Roots Advent Course 2020
Reflecting on 2020 through the Christmas story – written by Emily Hoe-Crook
This offers us the opportunity to explore the challenges and changes to everyday life we have experienced this year and look forward to the new year with hope in Jesus. The five-week course takes the ‘scenes’ and characters of the Christmas story and invites us to make connections with life during the pandemic. We can reflect on our feelings and response to what’s happened and come alongside the people in the Christmas story with fresh insight and understanding.
- Scene 1 – Rules and regulations. Luke 2 v 1-5
- Scene 2 – Unsung heroes Luke 2 v 8-20
- Scene 3 – Traveling light Matthew 2 v 1-12
- Scene 4 – At a distance Luke 1 v 26-38
- Scene 5 – Ways and means Luke 2 v 6-7
