Stephen’s letter, BBC Services, Worship opportunities this week, Readings commencing 13th Sept. and this week’s Reflection.

Dear All

It was good that so many people were able to join together in the services a week ago to welcome Stuart and Kim. Our thanks to all at The Drive and Lytham who made those services possible.

One of the big challenges of reopening the churches is the need for more people to help with hosting the service by stewarding each week. As the churches open across the Circuit, we will need to review our arrangements at The Drive but for the moment arrangements are as before:

To attend email thedriveworship@gmail.com or ring 01253 729849 before 9.00 p.m. on Friday 11th September. To join the Service via Zoom email southfyldeworship@gmail.com

This Sunday will be the last of the Circuit Zoom services as this was a temporary arrangement during August to bridge to when the churches open across the Circuit.  From this week Lytham, Fairhaven and Kirkham will be open, Freckleton will open on the 20th and Church Road on the 27th September. The District Zoom service at 7.00 p.m. will continue in September if you would like to join please ask for the joining information. As Government restrictions change we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed of any changes.

The South Fylde Circuit Sunday Morning Zoom Service at 10.30 a.m. each week is an opportunity for people to join the Circuit service at The Drive from their own home or wherever they are via the internet. Please see the invitation to join for more information and email southfyldeworship@gmail.com to book and receive joining details . Deadline for booking is 9.00 p.m. on Friday each week.  This allows time for us to issue joining details and make sure we can accommodate everyone. Please note that this service will not be available after the 13th September.

During this time of changing restrictions and gradual opening of our buildings we continue to highlight some of the many opportunities for worship with a focus on those that are easily available, knowing those with internet access have access to a huge amount of material, far more than we can list so we have listed some of those with a local connection. Please note this offer changes and updates more regularly than we can keep up with so please note, it was accurate when compiled but it may change so please check the programme schedules on the day.

*Not everyone will have a *STF hymn book so we have put the first line of the hymn alongside so that you can look it up in another hymn book or google it or play it on You Tube.

If you would like some background on the readings and points to ponder please go to https://www.methodist.org.uk/our-faith/the-bible/a-word-in-time/

You may want to read all three elements at once or others may prefer to space them out during the day – breakfast, dinner and tea. What works for you?  Some may need to set an alarm on their phone so that they don’t forget, while others will not be able to do anything else until readings are read and prayers shared. You will find a pattern that works for you and gives a framework for your day.
