Letter from Stephen and Readings for week commencing 7th June.

Dear All

Each week I write to you I’m amazed at how much is going on considering we are in lockdown. Some social activities have transferred from buildings to the internet, but there is no substitute for one to one   conversation. Phone calls and chats in many forms are making such a difference.

As we chat with each other and with God in prayer let’s give thanks for the many good things we enjoy and follow the Spirit’s prompting to be in touch with those who need our prayers and the encouragement and support that we can give even without leaving home.

The Methodist Conference will meet virtually this year from 25th June – 2nd July 2020 in order to conduct its essential business. We are particularly mindful of those for whom this is a significant Conference personally (e.g. Ordinands and those designated for office) and hope that the Methodist people will keep them and all the representatives in their prayers. The Conference will be asked to adopt the changes to the stations as usual and at present we are assuming that all moves will go ahead as planned during the summer.

On Sunday 14th June at 3.00 p.m. join a service of reflection, memorial and appreciation for all those impacted by COVID-19 across MHA homes, schemes and beyond atmha.org.uk/mhasunday.
