*Not everyone will have a *STF hymn book so we have put the first line of the hymn alongside so that you can look it up in another hymn book or google it or play it on You Tube.

If you would like some background on the readings and points to ponder please go to https://www.methodist.org.uk/our-faith/the-bible/a-word-in-time/

You may want to read all three elements at once or others may prefer to space them out during the day – breakfast, dinner and tea. What works for you?  Some may need to set an alarm on their phone so that they don’t forget, while others will not be able to do anything else until readings are read and prayers shared. You will find a pattern that works for you and gives a framework for your day.

Christian Aid Week 10th – 16th May
Under the current circumstances, the usual Christian Aid Week events cannot go ahead. The need, however, is greater than ever.  Christian Aid have created  a vibrant, virtual Christian Aid Week  online with activities, reflections and a virtual Christian Aid Week service.

During Christian Aid Week
It’s more important than ever that we come together as a community to worship and to share fun and fellowship. That’s why during Christian Aid Week we will be live-streaming worship each day, and hosting a fun daily quiz to join and raise funds. Sign up using the links below to take part.

This Week’s Meditation 30th April

Mid-week Meditation 30th April 2020 Apostolic Witness

Acts 3-4

Walking on a deserted beach one might wonder how we can witness today to those who we don’t meet but God seems to find a way. Not many dog walking trips to the beach go without us ‘bumping’ into someone we know, and church generally becomes the topic of conversation, remembering those who are in hospital or at home in isolation.

Paul was always finding a way to witness in whatever situation he found himself, be it at The Gate Beautiful or before the Council. Nothing really fazed him, yet our own reticence often makes us question our own witness. Perhaps we stop and over think it or perhaps we worry about the consequence too much. When God empowers our witness, however feeble, his love will still shine through.

Let us pray

Lord God, give us the courage and faith to be witnesses in your world. Fill our lives with your love and your truth that others will know that we are your followers. Help us to speak out, help us to listen to those around us, enable us to give virtual hugs and share your love. Lord touch our lives by your Holy Spirit that we may care for those in need, for those who are carers and for ourselves.

Help us to recognise our own uniqueness in your sight and teach us to walk in your way, with the one who walked before us and shared all that life means to us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen

Meditation

How do we listen to God?

How do we speak out for Him?

Who can you give a virtual hug to?

Give one to yourself!

Lancashire District live Zoom Service 7pm Sunday’s

The Lancashire District regular worship gathering via zoom will take place on Sunday at 7.00 p.m

I think everyone has now found the mute button but we must remember to be muted unless we have been invited to say something as zoom responds to any noise. The use of chat for prayers has developed and will now be recorded and sent to all those who ask to join so it can be used in prayers the following week.

We are still learning lessons.  Once again we will be singing, I’ve called it “Duets with Jason”. As we will all be muted except Jason you can then sing along at home at whatever volume you want! If you have a hymnbook to hand it would be helpful although we will try to get the words up as well this may be more complicated.

We can still only admit 100 devices at any one time. We have been able to accommodate everyone who applied so we haven’t increased the number available. We will continue to monitor the situation but please use the form at the bottom to sign up.
