Isaiah wrote that God is a mother to us, comforting and carrying us in her arms: As a mother comforts her child, so will I  comfort you… (Isaiah 66:13, NIV1984).

Christmas does not end at midnight on Christmas Day!

Christmas does not end at midnight on Christmas Day! The Christmas season runs from Christmas Eve all the way to Epiphany on 6 January and then the  season of Epiphany lasts until Candlemas on 2 February, when we celebrate the presentation of Christ at the temple.

Epiphany, the date in the Church’s calendar in which Christians remember the visit of the wise men from the East to present gifts to Jesus.

ALL ARE WELCOME AT THE DRIVE. Join us for Sunday Worship at 10.30 am & coffee/tea afterwards if you have the time.

A Child’s Prayer

‘Dearest Loving Jesus, please help me to be good, and say and do nice things that all good children should.

But if sometimes I slip a bit and do get out of hand, then please dear loving Jesus help the grown ups understand

that it isn’t always easy to be good, as good as can be

But I promise to always try my best because you’re helping me.’

  Amen

This poem was written by one of our congregation for her grandchildren.

A prayer for our 140th Church Anniversary which we celebrated in our worship on Sunday 3rd September

               Anniversary Prayer.

I give thanks to you for the gifts you have given me –

my life, my family, my friends – my faith in Jesus.

All that I have comes from you.

Help me to remember this

and rejoice in your goodness.

Walk with me my God.

Help me as I join in the spiritual journey

that began here

a hundred and forty years ago.

Renew in me your spirit,

that filled generations before

and formed my faith in you.

Give me the strength and courage

to become a better follower of Jesus,

to give as a gift for future generations,

what I have received as a gift from you.

May I, my family, and this church

give glory to you, my God,

now and forever.  Amen

Palm Sunday 9th April

Palm Sunday commemorates Christ’s triumphant arrival in Jerusalem to the cheers of the crowd.

The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem,

Later in that week many of the people in that cheering crowd would be among those shouting that Jesus should be executed.
